40 Acres Initiative
Reclaiming Land, Equity, and Opportunity
The 40 Acres Initiativ
The 40 Acres Initiative is BRCC’s long-term mission to support community development, economic opportunity, and generational progress through the thoughtful acquisition and use of land.
We envision spaces where Black businesses, families, entrepreneurs, and community organizations can grow, collaborate, produce, and build lasting connections.
Our Vision
As the initiative develops, potential areas of focus may include:
- Business and commercial development
- Agriculture and food production
- Housing and community spaces
- Education and workforce development
- Wellness and recreation
- Cultural and community events
- Infrastructure supporting local entrepreneurs
These goals represent BRCC’s vision for the initiative. Specific projects will depend on available resources, community needs, professional guidance, partnerships, and the property ultimately acquired.
Why Land Matters
Land can provide a foundation for business development, community stability, food production, gathering spaces, and long-term opportunity.
Through the 40 Acres Initiative, BRCC hopes to help create sustainable spaces that serve present needs while contributing to a stronger legacy for future generations.
Building the Foundation
The 40 Acres Initiative is currently in its early planning and development stage. BRCC is researching possible organizational models, identifying qualified professional advisers, building community relationships, and exploring potential partnerships and funding opportunities.
No individual ownership, land allocation, financial return, investment interest, or right to use future property is currently being offered or guaranteed.
Any future participation structure will be announced only after it has been properly developed and reviewed by qualified legal, tax, and financial professionals.

You do not have to become a BRCC member to support the mission. Individuals, businesses, and community partners may help by:
