40 Acres and a Mule Initiative

Reclaiming Land, Equity, and Opportunity

The 40 Acres and a Mule Initiative is the BRCC bold, modern approach to economic justice — rooted in history, driven by community, and focused on ownership.

This initiative reimagines the unfulfilled promise of land and resources by empowering Black communities through land acquisition, business development, and shared economic systems that prioritize collective growth over individual survival.

We call it community-driven economic action — building together, owning together, and rewriting the rules that govern Black economic life.

Our Goals:

• Acquire land for agriculture, housing, commercial development, and recreation

• Develop Black-owned spaces — grocery stores, schools, wellness centers, and retail hubs

• Support local entrepreneurship by providing access to property, capital, and infrastructure

• Establish cooperative ownership models that allow communities to invest and profit together

• Create new economic rules and standards that ensure Black dollars stay in Black hands

This is more than an initiative — it’s a blueprint for self-determination. From farming co-ops to product manufacturing and real estate projects, every action taken through this initiative brings us closer to true generational wealth and autonomy.

The Legacy Program

40 Acres & a Mule Initiative

Secure Land. Build Legacy. Shape the Future.

The Legacy Program is a monthly commitment created to establish collective land ownership and long-term stability through the 40 Acres & a Mule Initiative. By contributing $199 per month, members participate in the acquisition, protection, and development of land held within a Community Land Trust, ensuring that land remains rooted in the community for generations.

This is not about speculation.

This is about stewardship, permanence, and legacy.

Legacy Membership

$199 per month

Monthly contributions support:

• Land acquisition and expansion

• Trust administration and legal structuring

• Infrastructure preparation and planning

• Long-term stewardship and development

Quarter-Acre Legacy Allocation

Through consistent participation, Legacy Members become eligible for a quarter-acre beneficial interest within the 40 Acres & a Mule Initiative, held securely in a Community Land Trust.

What this means:

• Land is held in trust, not individually deeded

• Members receive a beneficial interest, not speculative ownership

• Eligibility is based on program milestones and availability

• Interests are designed for long-term and generational participation

More Than Land

The 40 Acres & a Mule Initiative supports:

• Housing and community development

• Business and agricultural opportunities

• Shared spaces and infrastructure

• Intergenerational planning

This is about building something that cannot be taken away.

What This Is — and Is Not

This IS:

• A monthly legacy contribution

• A pathway to land participation through a protected trust

• A commitment to community ownership

This IS NOT:

• A land sale or mortgage

• A guaranteed investment or financial return
